Lance R. Wurst
Lance has been a teacher and coach in Nebraska Public Schools for more than 30 years. He grew up in Milford, attended Hastings College for two years and then graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in education with endorsements in art and history. He received a master’s of arts degree in in Art Education from UNM, Albuquerque in 1989, and has taught in Perkins County (Grant) since 1991. He was inspired by his college instructors to keep making art even though he was busy teaching. That motivated him to keep practicing, making and working through the process of being one who makes art.
From the Artist:
My inspirations are everywhere, from the masters of watercolors, to contemporary artists from around the world. Nature inspires much of my work. My work is fairly easy to interpret at first glance, but if one would look closer there are multiple layers of paint, and complex details in backgrounds and areas, that are pure abstraction. I like to work back and forth between realism, and abstraction within those realistic images.
