How to write for Nebraska Rural Living
Our interest is in spreading the word about rural living in general and living in rural Nebraska in particular. If you have written or want to write on those general topics, we’d like to hear from you.
We’re especially interested in original stories about events, personalities and places related to small town and rural life. Submissions should be 800-1000 words and be made via email attachment in either Word or Text formats. Please include your name and complete contact information. If you have photos available, we would very much appreciate those as well; please submit them in JPEG format.
We are assuming that by your submission you are giving us permission to publish the work at our discretion on nebraskaruralliving.com, and to use your name in publicity about the site.
That’s pretty much it. Other than that we only expect what any publisher would:
- Names, dates, places and other hard facts are correct and complete.
- Grammar, punctuation and spelling conform with standard usage.
- You did the work yourself.
- You’re telling the truth.
- You aren’t libeling anyone.
If your work is selected, it will appear along with your byline on the Nebraska Rural Living Web site in our Articles & Essays column. As we are a non-profit entity, there is, sadly, no compensation available for selected articles or essays.
